A Naoi Direction was originally the shop name for the creations made by Azez Morose, Lamir. The name was chosen to represent moving in your own, new direction. "A Naoi" means Nine in Gaelic and is pronounced just like "a new". A Naoi Direction refers to the accessible plane that isn't represented by the eight directions on a compass rose; up! It's a subtle homage to the idea of Ascension, as it relates to spirituality. Personal empowerment to make your voice heard and hold no attachment to how it's received. When you ascend, it is easy to change direction and get back on course, find a better course or choose a new destination. Sometimes it will require a minor descent to get back up and around to where you want to be. Be willing and do it because you are still far beyond anywhere you don't want to be.
A Naoi Direction became an Austin Artworks Collaborative at the beginning of 2022 when Azez met Patti. She immediately recognized the opportunity to grow A Naoi Direction and to help her new friend grow their art and expand into local creative markets. They both gave what they had to offer and it just kept growing from there!
